Why is Harry Potter's wand in his left hand?
So I was re-reading the Harry Potter series, and I was reading the Prisoner of Azkaban, and came to the chapter The Patronus (chapter 12). I realized in the picture that Harry is using his left hand as his wand hand. I thought that maybe he was just holding it there so I pulled out the Order of Phoenix and saw that Harry is holding his wand in his left hand on the cover. In the 1st book, he says he’s right handed, so why is is wand in his left hand?

Authors dont get to decide what illistrations our going into their book or even what the cover will look like. 9 out of 10 illistrators dont actually read the book so whover drew those pics obiviously diddnt read the book. Ive noticed about ten mistakes in the drawings in the books 1-7 but usually the illistrator never reads the book just slaps a pic on the page. By reading a summarary about the book and the chapter titles.

When you’re facing your fears… I don’t think you have time to contemplate which hand to use with your wand… I think you’re looking into it too far.

lol maybe he’s ambidextrous (uses both hands)? i know that i am classified as left handed because i write with my left hand but i do loads of stuff right handed

The illustrator for the Harry Potter series and the author are two different people, and the illustrator usually gets a certain amount of leeway with her depictions. That bit of artistic license is probably causing the small difference.

lol good point! i never really noticed that. maybe the illustrater didn’t actually read the book before drawing a picture for it lol hahah your a good observer

becouse maybe he was right handed but he wanted to use his left hand instead

Because the movies/illustrators are wrong. JKR definitely said he’s right-handed. Have you noticed that over the years Harry’s scar moves around on his forehead a lot? One side, than the other, than the middle.
